You can visit the Sanbodromo to watch the Samba schools competing with the costumes and show. To watch in the Sanbodromo tickets are available from around 150$ Brl in the stadium at Anhembi. Otherwise throughout the city you will find carnivals on the street in which you follow the trucks playing music. If you are brave enough to be driving a car in São Paulo then you can take a day trip to São Roque which is in the countryside of the state and is approx 1 hour 30 minutes away. There you will will wine country and "rota do vinho" the wine route where there are around 20 vinyards producing wine.

You can visit many of them trying the local wines and grape juices made there and even Cachaça's the Brazilian cane sugar spirit. You will find many offer lunch service too if interested. There is plenty to do and its a great day out.
